Las Vegas Homeless Students Getting Help Through Local Deli’s Fundraiser
If you’ve never been to Fat Sal’s Deli in Downtown Las Vegas, you’re truly missing out. The eatery has been a local favorite in Southern California for years. And Vegas residents have been asking for a location in Southern Nevada almost just as long. Now they’ve gotten their wish, and the deli is already getting off to a great start in Las Vegas with their commitment to give back to the community.
Fat Sal’s Deli Fundraiser To Benefit Las Vegas Homeless Students
Fat Sal’s Deli just opened in Las Vegas last month with KKLZ reporting the ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 19. And already they have set up their first fundraising event to help the Las Vegas homeless community. Throughout the month of October, Fat Sal’s Deli will donate $1.50 from each Fat Jerry sold to Project 150. The local nonprofit provides free support and services to Las Vegas homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students.
Project 150 is an incredibly important organization in the city for various reasons. We just reported earlier this week the nationwide epidemic of chronic school absences that is also affecting Southern Nevada. One of the reasons kids are missing school includes housing insecurity. Project 150 is tackling that issue head-on with their programs.
Project 150 provides ready-made food, family meal bags, clothing, hygiene items and more to Vegas homeless kids. As well as those who are displaced or otherwise at a disadvantage when it comes to staying successful in school. Fat Sal’s Deli’s fundraiser will help in this mission with their monetary donations during October.
The Fat Jerry at Fat Sal’s Deli is the sandwich to order this month to help out our local kids. The sandwich is one of the deli’s most popular items, Priced at $19.99, it is made with thinly sliced ribeye steak, grilled onions, melted American cheese, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, crisp bacon, a fried egg, French fries, mayonnaise, ketchup and salt & pepper on a hero.
The fundraiser will go through October 31, 2024. Fat Sal’s Deli is located at 450 Fremont Street in the Neonopolis in Downtown Las Vegas. They open Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. And close at midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
