Truth Jar: Music You Love, But Is Embarrassing To Your Friends
Being Monday, the “Truth Jar” is out and the question, what is that music you love, but you’d be embarrassed if your friends heard it? That’s what The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know this morning.
The spotlight was on Carla Rea when the question popped up. A listener wanted to know, with all the different music she listens to, what would be embarrassing if people actually knew.
Keep in mind, that you should know what we’re talking about. There’s an article Calm put out explaining what a guilty pleasure is and some that are actually good for you. But back to the question at hand…
What Music Do You Love, But Embarrassed To Admit It
Right off the bat Carla said “big band”! Loves to crank it up at home and for good reason. It’s because her dad, being a musician, introduced her to this music and she has learned to love it. It offers so much music all the different ways with a lot of different instruments.
It moves and can take different turns throughout one piece of music. On the other hand, Morty said that he loves opera! Say what? Yep, he is not ashamed to put on a good sounding opera…and why? It’s all because of he’s mother who used to sing opera!
While we can all appreciate those with different tastes in music, one woman called Morty out on the opera! She said she broke up with a guy who said he loved that kind of music, but broke up with him when the only opera he could name was “Phantom of the Opera”!
Mike O’Brian came up with a different tune. Although musicals is he’s guilty pleasure, new age or jazz can fill the house at one point in his life. We’re talking Lee Ritenour, The Brecker Brothers, and more. From that to new age as well.
Hey, everyone has something they are hiding when it comes to likes and dislikes…but quite a few people surprised us. And it doesn’t take music when it comes to that.
Listen to the segment from this morning and see if it strikes a cord with you or your better half…and enjoy!
