Desert Dogs: Professional Box Lacrosse, New Season, New Home
They are ready to crank it up…the Desert Dogs, professional box lacrosse with a new season and a new home. Now playing in the Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, the team is ready to “defend the den” with their season home opener tonight!
A couple of the players stopped by earlier in the week to The Mike & Carla Morning Show. Captain Conner Kirst and first round draft pick Adam Poitras.
Adam, being the newest member of the team, is out of Toronto playing his college lacrosse at Loyola University in Maryland. As we said, taken in the first round and the second overall pick in the recent draft, the team has high hopes for Adam as well.
Connor has been with the team for a couple of seasons and is ready to hit it with the first match in the new home for the Desert Dogs. Now playing outside The District in Henderson, Kirst likes the feel of the Forum. It’s a more intimate setting for the matches and will get the crowd even closer to the action.
The Desert Dogs Are Primed For A New Season
After an up and down season last year, both players are hoping to improve the team’s chances of making the playoffs this year. Both agree it’s just a matter of getting to know each other to make things fall in place for a successful season.
Tonight is the season home opener against Colorado and there is a pre-party to kickoff the night. There’s a pre-game tailgate party outside the arena. Beer specials and more…which is part of the excitement of playing at the LFF.
Both Mike O’Brian and Carla Rea are huge fans of the team and the sport. If you do anything with the family, take in a game or two. Tickets are reasonable where you can take the entire family and their promotional nights end up being a blast!
