It’s something that some people just wait for…the 4th of July! But here’s the question this morning, how much is Las Vegas spending on fireworks?
That’s what fired up The Mike & Carla Morning Show audience the other morning. You might be surprised by how much is being spent. On the other hand, we found out that either you are all in or not at all.
Considering everyone on the show, none of us really are those people that go all out on the 4th. In fact, we’re more of the “let’s just sit back and watch them” type people.
Executive Producer Morty was that person, but ended the streak about 3-4 years ago. Realizing that it was just like burning his hard earned money.

Now keep in mind that a few days ago, we posted a story on how Metro is cracking down on illegal explosives for the holidays. Channel 3 actually reported on this and for some reason, it’s been a record year!
So, what is it that makes people whip out their wallets and dish the dollars out for this stuff? From the calls and listeners texting in, sometimes it can be from enjoyment, a challenge, or an all-out competition!
You heard right! Some listeners claimed that they didn’t want to be outdone by the neighbor down the street. For that reason alone, they were loading up and ready to put on a show.
One caller said that it just so happened that friends got married on the 4th, so they had to make sure that their display was second to none!
