Nevada Health Centers Mammovan Is Hitting The Streets Of Las Vegas

Nevada Health Centers is a nonprofit organization providing healthcare services to They say their mission is to provide access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada.

Nevada Health Centers’ Mammovan is hitting the streets in the fight against breast cancer. Their mobile screening clinic travels across the state of Nevada all year long. And for the next few weeks, the Mammovan is making stops throughout the Las Vegas Valley, offering convenient, and easy access to mammogram screenings to all women - regardless of their economic status.

They were one of the first federally funded Community Health Centers, that was authorized under the Public Health Services Act of 1976.

The Nevada Health Centers Mammovan accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare, and the cost of your screening may even be covered.

Women Are Not Exclusive To Breast Cancer

For women 40 and older, the short 20 minute screenings are critical in preventing breast cancer, since early detection is the best protection. It could truly save your life.

But you should know this, gentlemen: The percentage of men diagnosed with breast cancer is approximately 1 (one) percent of all breast cancer cases. This means that out of every 100 people diagnosed with breast cancer, one is a male.

Breast cancer in males is rare compared to female breast cancer, but it is still a serious condition that needs to be monitored, especially if it runs in your family. I have a dear friend whose husband had breast cancer, and has to get a mammogram each year.

Can't stress enough, that early detection is the key in treating breast cancer. If you would like to schedule a screening appointment on the Mammovan, you can do it right here.
