F1: Not Everyone Excited About Next Year
Although some would say it was great, for F1, not everyone is that excited about it coming back next year. Or maybe we should say that some were not satisfied with the overall event…we’re talking before and after!
It seems, according to a report by Channel 3, that some County Commissioners are having second thoughts about the race coming back to Las Vegas. If nothing else, some strong concerns about the future of the Grand Prix event.
Maybe Las Vegas Is Not Excited About F1
Now overall, the race looked great on T.V. and it totally showed off Las Vegas in a different light. But some County Commissioners have heard the rumblings of those local businesses hit the hardest and would like to re-assess everything.
In fact, the Channel 3 report says that it’s already on the agenda for the upcoming meeting on February 20th. Keep in mind all the money that allegedly came into our town because of the race and the tourists. But now it seems that F1 would like $40 million to help in covering some of the costs of the infrastructure work around the track!
Uh, say what? Yeah, this is where the Clark County Commissioners are coming together to see what the heck is going on. And if the race is truly worth it all. Some local businesses around the track would probably tell you NO! Plus, a few pending lawsuits might tell you they weren’t happy at all.
Maybe there’s a chance that they would think about moving the track south of the Las Vegas Strip? You will still have the backdrop of Las Vegas in sight, more freedom to move around without shutting everything down. Without causing all the headaches it did for locals trying to get to and from work on time.
Just a thought…but the meeting is next week. It might be time to have your voice heard!
