California Man Upset The People Of Italy With A Bottle Of Ketchup
When it comes to Italian food, and I’m talking authentic Italian food, the people of Italy take it very seriously.
They take pride in what they create, and that is why so many people love Italian food. But when you take something they’ve made, then supplement it with something that shouldn’t be on it, they will not take that lightly!
What Happened
A man from Los Angeles, California was vacationing in Milan, Italy. He ordered a pizza at the restaurant he was at. When the pizza was brought out to him, he whipped out his phone to take photos and video of it. But he wasn’t taking a video of him eating the pizza right away. Oh no! He picked up a bottle of ketchup and drenched his entire pizza with it — all while filming it.
His name is Ben Reid. Ben is a TikToker and goes by the username @itsbenreid. He has about 2.7 million followers. The manager of the Italian restaurant saw Ben pick up the bottle of ketchup and smother his food with it. One of the waitresses of the restaurant watched in disbelief as he covered his pizza with the tomato condiment, his TikTok shows. The manager, as well as others, freaked out! The manager took his disapproval of the act to another level. He walked over to Ben’s table, grabbed the ketchup bottle and threw it! He yelled, “No!” while throwing it, according to his TikTok.
Where Did The Ketchup Come From And Why Did Ben Use It?
Obviously the Italian restaurant doesn’t put out ketchup bottles. They probably don’t even have ketchup in their restaurant. It’s obvious that Ben brought his own bottle because he was filming a viral video. But Ben didn’t know he would get the reaction he got. In fact Ben didn’t even have a chance to take a bite of his pizza because of the manager confronting him about it.
Now before you start to feel sorry for Ben, if you even did in the first place, he did post a TikTok video series titled “Pissing off every single Italian I encounter.” The two videos alone got over 10 million views. According to The Daily Mail, Italian locals as well as visitors from other places said they felt offended by Ben’s video. There were also others who sided with Ben and said that they would do the same but with ranch. Ben said the waiter even tried to kick him out of the restaurant.
