Las Vegas "resident" Barry Manilow is on pace to overtake Elvis's - The King’s - record of performances in Las Vegas.

Last Month, superstar Manilow announced how he will celebrate the event. It will be a a three-day festival September 21-23 at Westgate Las Vegas.

Barry Manilow set to break Elvis' Las Vegas record:

Manilow is due to break Elvis’ record of 636 performances at International/Las Vegas Hilton from 1969-1976 on Thursday, Sept. 21, barring any schedule shifts or postponements, of course. Manilow had to postpone a show in June due to a stage miscue.

He told the Las Vegas Review Journal, and several social media outlets, that he is amazed he’s on the verge of snapping Elvis's record. He said just being in the room that Elvis sat down in, and to see his name in the same sentence is mind-boggling to him. Manilow says Elvis invented a style of music, that is literally still popular today. How many people can say that?

A special Fanilow weekend for charity:

80-year-old Manilow will celebrate throughout that September weekend, raising money for several charities and adding some special gifts for ticket-holders.

'Fanilows' will love some of the special gifts: A Collector’s Commemorative Coin, a Copacabana Boa, a Record Breaking Celebration hat, two free drinks (in a collectible cup) at the Copa Bar, and a VIP pass to a private screening of the 1985 TV movie “Copacabana,” in which Manilow plays barkeep and singer Tony.

Not Manilow's first residency:

Barry Manilow is actually performing his second residency production at the Westgate. He did his first there from 2005-2010, when the hotel was still the Las Vegas Hilton. He moved over to Paris Theater for two years, then returned to Westgate in May 2017.

Manilow  covered ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight’ on his ‘Greatest Songs of the 50s’ album, and also  ‘If I Can Dream.’ He says he might do one or both of them for his September shows.

If you're a true Fanilow, you won't want to miss this special weekend!
