Nevada Shakespeare Festival 2023 Shaking Things Up In Las Vegas
The Nevada Shakespeare Festival has announced a collaboration with our local Las Vegas Academy of the Arts.
In partnership with The City of Henderson, the Nevada Shakespeare Festival will bring two productions to the Las Vegas Valley. Landing at the newly renovated Water Street Plaza Amphitheater in Henderson. This will not be the Shakespeare we read in school. These adaptations boast small casts in rowdy adaptations of the Bard’s original works.
The first show will be “Romeo & Juliet“.
Free performances will be available through two dates of Shakespeare in the Park – April 8 at Silver Springs Park in Henderson and April 22 at Inspirada’s Solista Park. Guests can bring a blanket and enjoy the show on the grass. And get ready for a version of this show not like what you’ve already seen. There will be sword fights and spouts of love, sure. But there’s also going to be some readings that will have you laughing out loud. And did we mention there’s going to be a bit of Bon Jovi as well?
Next up, “The Tempest“.
Join the Nevada Shakespeare Festival at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater for their mainstage show. “The Tempest” will run two weekends, on May 18-20 and May 25-27. This adaption of Shakespeare’s classic work involves a lot of magic. Starring Master Illusionist Rod Raven. Guests can purchase tickets, starting at $10, at nevadashakespearefestival.com.
Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s collaboration with the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts.
Artistic Director Matthew Morgan is adapting the Bard’s works for the “Comedy of Errors” show, running May 6-8, 2023. The result will be a gender-neutral, all-inclusive production that engages the younger population and encourages a sense of self-worth.
The mission of the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s team is to curate artists who create unique, relevant and accessible works. They want to make their productions both digestible for first-time theatergoers and inspirational for long-time fans of Shakespeare’s work. You can visit their website to donate to the organization and get information about upcoming shows.

'Lord Of The Rings' Film Coming To Las Vegas Theaters
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since the Lord of the Rings franchise was in movie theaters.
The Fellowship of the Ring was released in 2001 and instantly gained a huge fan following. The Two Towers dropped a year later, in 2002, to many anxiously awaiting movie-goers. And the final film in the trilogy, Return of the King, was filling the seats in 2003.
The movies were adaptations of J.R. Tolkien‘s fantasy novels and more than put Peter Jackson into the winner’s circle of film directors. They also immortalized actors like Elijah Wood, Ian McKellan, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler and Sean Astin.
Now Warner Brothers is rereleasing the final film in theaters across North America.
To celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will play in select theaters for a limited time. When it was first released, the film won an impressive 11 Oscars. And picked up $1.1 billion at the box office. Now those who didn’t get the chance to see one of the masterpieces in theaters will be able to experience the magic.
And it gets even better. The 20th anniversary showing will be the 260-minute extended edition of the film. That’s four hours and ten minutes of Frodo and Sam traipsing through Middle Earth. This one wasn’t even in theaters the first time. It was only released on DVD.
Regal and Cinemark are participating in the campaign and showing the film in their theaters. Cinemark has an added bonus for fans in the form of an introduction from Elijah Wood.
The film will play just two dates, April 13th & April 19th. Tickets are on sale and it’s anticipated that they will sell quickly. So it’s being recommended that die hard fans keep checking their favorite ticket outlet so they don’t miss out.
