Dolly Parton Calling It Quits On Touring?
Dolly Parton could tour until she can’t anymore and she will still fill a venue. But according to the country legend, she doesn’t want that life anymore. She has hinted at retiring completely from touring.
Parton played a bunch of different dates this year but has no future plans for next year. She basically said in an interview that she will play shows here and there, but there’s no tour planned. She said, “I do not think I will ever tour again!” At her age of 76, she said she doesn’t want to spend her time and energy being on tour for weeks on end. She’s more focused on family and her families health. She doesn’t want to be away when something happens. She would feel terrible if she had to leave a tour for personal matters. She said it’s not fair to her fans.
Fans are left wondering if this is really gonna happen or if she will never tour again. Most big artists never leave the touring life without them doing some type of farewell tour, but Dolly has always been one to do things on her terms. So if you’re looking to see a Dolly Parton show, you may be waiting a while. But she did say she’s open to doing weekend shows or a festival here or there, but as far as a consistent tour, the expect it.
