What Do You Call Your Grandparents And Why
It’s a very novel topic this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show. All we wanted to know is what you call or how you referred to your grandparents…and why? It could be because of your nationality, geographically, or simple a family thing that’s been handed down through generations.
So this morning, The M&C Morning Show opened up the text and talk lines to find out more. We should be clear that this whole thing started because Carla Rea watches “Young Sheldon” and the term “Me-maw” is used to refer to the main character’s grandmother. We know, who would have thought Carla would be watching “Young Sheldon” at all!
Now in the case of Mike O’Brian and his wife Jodi, their grandkids refer to the two of them as “Papa” and “Nana”. No reason, it just what they decided upon the birth of their first grandchild. On the other side of the family, Mike’s grandchildren refer to one
On the other hand, Carla Rea being from a strong Italian family, there were names already associated with grandparents that their family stayed true to. Nothing wrong with that since a lot of families do the same thing.
Of course, a name can come from one of the kids not being able to say the full name and it ends up sticking and becoming that grandparent’s official name…hey, if it works, it works. However, there are times where after a certain age you need to make the correct so everyone is on the same page.
Well, think of your family and how you came up with the names you use for your grandparents and see if any of the names mentioned jog your memory a bit or a family story that you’d like to share…we all have them! It’s all from this morning on The M&C Morning Show…so take a listen and enjoy!
