Carla Rea Nails It Opening For Kathleen Madigan
Friday night was a great night of laughter from two hysterically funny women featuring comedian Kathleen Madigan and KKLZ’s own Carla Rea! Headlining at The Mirage, Kathleen Madigan had asked her long time comedic friend Carla Rea to open for her inside The Mirage Theater for this one night engagement!
Carla has know Kathleen for years and it had been that long since the two worked together, so last time on The Mike & Carla Morning Show, Kathleen just came out and asked if Carla if she was busy on Friday, August 5th. Needless to say, Carla had a free night and was more than willing to join her old friend on stage!
Kathleen Madigan’s most recent special “Bothering Jesus” is her fifth hour long standup special. Her album of the “Bothering Jesus” special, was the highest selling comedy album and most played comedy album on streaming services since 2014.
Kathleen won the American Comedy Award for “Best Female Comedian” and “the Phyllis Diller award for “Best Female Comedian,” and she has done multiple USO tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kathleen says, “The USO shows are the best. Trust me, no crowd is as appreciative and fired up to see any entertainer. I’m glad I have the chance because God knows I don’t wanna have to do their job!”
Needless to say, Kathleen is one funny woman…and if you add Carla Rea to the bill, well, it doesn’t matter the ticket cost, you are guaranteed that it’s going to be a very special night…
So, if you were lucky to be there, you experienced one hysterical night of laughter provided by both women and, although it was a 10pm show, it was well worth taking the nap and making it a late night on The Strip!
