Vegas Celebrating Labor Day With Festival At Mount Charleston
There’s a festival happening near Las Vegas. And just in time for Labor Day weekend.
The weather in Las Vegas this weekend feels amazing. But even though we’re getting a wonderful break from the triple digits, it won’t last long. We’re looking at temperatures back up above 100 degrees come next Saturday. So if you are jonesin’ to get out of the house, now is the time to do it.
And there is a perfect family getaway just 30 miles from Las Vegas at Mount Charleston. The Retreat on Charleston Peak will be hosting a food & artisan festival this weekend. Both Sunday, September 3 (10am – 8pm) and Monday, September 4 (10am – 4pm).
At the festival, hosted by LV Craft Shows, patrons will find more than ten various food trucks and art and craft booths. And original works of art by over 60 local artisans will be available for purchase. Visitors are encouraged to get their holiday shopping started early.
Admission and parking is free. Live entertainment will be present for the kids. And adults are invited to enjoy the Beer Garden hosted by The Retreat. Dogs are welcome too. It’s a great location for a craft show because the scenery is beautiful. So even if you’re not looking to purchase, come out for the amazing weather. AND register to win a 2-night stay in Mount Charleston.
Prepare for cooler weather.
Just remember that the temperature up at Charleston will be about 15-20 degrees cooler than Vegas is experiencing this weekend. So make sure you bring layers and especially a sweater for the cooler temps. The festival will be both indoors and outdoors and it will happen rain or shine. Sturdy shoes are encouraged, as the ground is uneven in places and a short walk from the parking area may be required.
The Retreat is located at 2755 Kyle Canyon Rd. You can check out the LV Craft Shows Instagram page @lvcraftshows and see what their festivals are like. Or visit their Facebook page here.
