‘End Call’ Button On iPhone Is Being Relocated
If you’re an iPhone user, you’ve probably run into the problem of accidentally hanging up on someone because your cheek accidentally hit the “end call” button on your phones screen. Well, Apple has heard your pleas and has decided to move the big red button to a new location.
Does It Really Need To Move?
Looking at the iPhone screen while on a phone call, the “end call” button sits in the center of the phone and the very bottom. Now if Apple didn’t decided to do anything about this, the world wouldn’t end. The amount of call accidentally dropped because of it’s location is not that high, but it is still an issue for some. Apple is preparing to release iOS 17 to the world soon. At the moment, beta testers are testing the new phone operating system, according to CNBC. They’re making sure the changes made actually work and make sense. Developers that are testing it out are finding the new position of the button to be quite frustrating.
The New “End Call” Button’s Location And Other Key Buttons
The new location for the “end call” button will be moving two doors down to the right of the screen. BUT, that’s not the only thing moving around. You’re gonna notice the “Mute” button and the “Speaker” button have moved as well. Those two buttons are swapping places and the “Facetime” button is moving down below with the “end call” button, CNBC reports. So basically, you won’t be dropping your phone calls anymore, but you’ll be requesting to Facetime the person you’re currently on the phone with.
Will This Happen In The Final Version
The changes being made are already getting backlash on social media. According to WBAL TV, people have muscle memory. Those buttons have been located in those positions for years. So, many people will probably hit a few wrong buttons before they’re used to the phone’s new layout. That has caused some frustration among developers testing the new iOS 17. Until the final version is rolled out to all iPhone users, we won’t know if they will stay in their old positions or actually be moved.
