Local Restaurant Manager Dealing With Unique Problem
Not sure how many times this has happened where you work, but a local restaurant manager is dealing with an odd problem. On The Mike & Carla Morning Show, it was brought up and hoping to help the guy out.
One of his employees came in with a “hickie” on their neck! We think we all know what we’re talking about and if you don’t, listen to the segment below to find out what you don’t know. But the manager put it out on social media looking for advice on what to do.
Does he…
- Send the person home?
- Write the person up?
- Or just let them go?
So what do you do? It was interesting the take a lot of listeners had on this topic. It was amazing that a lot people thought the last alternative was the least favorite. No reason to let them go, then you’re one person down, they’re out of a job…it’s a “no win” situation.
What would you do if you were the restaurant manager?
However, on the flipside, more listeners we in favor of just talking to the employee. Explaining that they understand it’ all about the “brand” that they are representing. Having a “hickie” on their neck is not a good look. Maybe a scarf, turtleneck or even a bit of makeup? Especially if they’re a valuable employee.
Hey listen, be who you want to be outside of the job site, but you have to remember that when you come into work, that’s who you represent. On the other hand, The M&C Morning Show did ask, if a server came up to your table, would you stay or feel the need to leave?
Once again, a little surprising on the response. Clearly a few of us are more tolerable these days then before. Of course there were a few that said they would have to ask for another server. Anyway, listen to the segment and see what you would do…and enjoy!
