Drinkers Needed For Field Sobriety Testing
If you are still looking for your “call” in life, this could be it, a Sheriff’s office in Missouri is looking for volunteers to basically drink, get drunk and help deputies to do field sobriety testing on real individuals. You heard right, drinkers are needed to help rookies give field sobriety tests!
Now we know at first it might look like a trick, but according to a report from Fox 2 in Jefferson County Missouri, it’s real and if you can drink for a couple of hours, you might be the person they are looking for! Sheriff David Marshak put out the call on social media looking for volunteers who could make it down to the station and drink for a couple of hours. And to make sure everyone got home okay, he was offering a FREE ride home!
If you drinkers need more proof it’s for real, here’s the Sheriff talking about it…
Now there is a catch, volunteers can not have any alcohol related arrests on the books or a criminal case pending. Outside of that, if you are free and clear, this might be just what you are looking for this weekend if you are in the Jefferson County area!
According to the report, the Sheriff also said “…these training sessions will be conducted Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon. After the field sobriety check, volunteers will take a breathalyzer test to “determine (their) level of intoxication.”
C’mon, how else are these rookies going to learn how to give a sobriety test on the road and out there in real life if they don’t practice? Here in Las Vegas, not sure if our local Metropolitan Police officers offer the same “training” session, but if they are, they need to get the word out! And if they do, we will make sure you are the first to know…on the other hand, just remember, don’t drink and drive!
