Woman Charged $8000.00 For Weekend Car Rental
A woman rented a car in Toronto, Canada earlier in the month and ended up getting charged $8000.00 for a weekend rental! She flew to Toronto in hopes of helping her daughter move in as she began her college career. Renting a GMC Yukon Denali for the weekend, she returned the car after three days and it ended up costing her $8000.00.
Clearly a mistake on someone’s part, but the woman couldn’t get anyone the rental car company to reverse the charge and make it good. That was until a local news station got involved and the rental car company has now reversed the charged, apologized to the woman, but won’t say how or why it happened!
So, The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know, what was the biggest “money” mistake you’ve ever encountered? How much was it and did you get it taken care of in a timely manner? Boy or boy, it was clear that Mike O’Brian and Carla Rea weren’t the only ones that this has happened to! Now keep in mind, Mike and Carla’s story didn’t even come close to the $8K it cost this one woman, but the inconvenience of having to get it corrected is just as frustrating sometimes as the mistake itself!
As you listen to the segment this morning, one listener clearly misunderstood the question that we were asking, but he’s story was funny though. Others called in and texted in with their own experiences and some were rectified quickly, others not so much.
One listener texted in with her story about her daughter getting charged out-of-state tuition at CSN, when in fact, her daughter was born and raised here in the state of Nevada…what made the problem worse, the daughter simply paid the out-of-state bill without any questions with her mom’s credit card! Arrghhhhhh!
