Bryce Harper Sporting His High School Letterman’s Jacket
Although he left high school after he’s sophomore year, Bryce Harper was sporting his letterman jacket the other day. According to a story from Channel 3, he arrived at Citizens Bank Park for a ballgame, Harper was wearing his Las Vegas High School letterman’s jacket. It was the first time back the Philadelphia Phillies, who were at home to play the Boston Red Sox!
“Take me out to the ballgame…”
After being the first draft pick in the 2010 by the Washington Nationals. Harper started out in the Nationals minor league system. With a slow start in Class-A ball, the Las Vegas local went to a doctor to get his eye sight checked out. A quote from the doctor saying that “…you have some of the worst eyes I’ve ever seen.”
After finally getting fitted for contacts, Harper all of a sudden was on fire and head to the show! The Nationals finally elevated Harper to the majors on April 27, 2012. Since then, he has never looked back. Although for the past 8 years he has now been playing for Philadelphia!
Making the move in March of 2019, Harper signed a 13 year, $330 million deal with the Phillies. In debut with the club, Harper’s first hit was a 465-foot home run to the second deck of the right field bleachers at home at Citizens Bank Park!
Harper has been a two time MVP of the National League, All-Star, and now has announced that he will play with the United States National Team in baseball’s World Classic!
It’s been quite the ride for the kid from Las Vegas High School. And through it all, Harper seems quite comfortable where he’s at. He’s done it all so far, and being from Las Vegas, it was great to see him representing LVHS! Way to go Bryce Harper…congrats and well done!
