The Passing of WKRP’s “Dr. Johnny Fever”
Howard Hesseman died Saturday due to complications from colon surgery. He was 81. Howard played “Dr. Johnny Fever” on “WKRP in Cincinnati”, and teacher Charlie Moore on “Head of the Class”. The Mike & Carla Morning Show remembers Hessman as the only actor that could have played the role on the tv show that only ran for only 4 seasons!
From 1978-1982 and only airing 90 episodes, the show became legendary with it’s “Turkey Drop” Thanksgiving Day episode…The M&C Morning Show salute the actor, the character he played and the station he worked for in this segment from this morning.
Mike O’Brian is the Program Director and Morning Show host on 96.3 KKLZ in Las Vegas, along with Carla Rea. He has been with the Beasley Media Group for almost 23 years. Mike is the host of the morning show and program director of 96.3 KKLZ/Las Vegas. He has been doing mornings in Las Vegas for the past 38 years. Over the years, he has hosted a numerous amount of community events and has been the P.A. announcer for a number of sports teams in Las Vegas. He has written on living in Las Vegas, the sports teams here, as well as odd & little-known facts about Las Vegas & Nevada.
