How Do You Handle Friends That Are Always Late
We all have them, but the question this morning was how do you handle those friends that are always late? It came up on The Mike & Carla Morning Show this morning.
It came out that a lot of people with friends like this that they just lie about the time of an event they need to be at. For example, if dinner is at 8:30pm, just tell your “late” friends that dinner is at 8pm!
According to an article in USA Today, leads us to believe that it might be okay to lie to your friends. Lie to them just to get them somewhere on time.
The article also pointed out that some adults’ definition of “on time” is a little different than others. It also sends mix messages to those you consider friends. That their time isn’t as important as yours.
On The M&C Morning Show, it was said that if it’s a “hard” time, meaning a reservation or show time, it would be just rude to be more than 10 minutes late.
If it’s a party or gathering, and say the start time is 7pm…it would be okay to be 15 to 30 minutes late. Kind of that rule, arrive late, leave early?
However, those that took the time to text in or call into the morning show, views differed. Not only was it not restricted to friends, but family! One woman talked about how her kids are ALWAYS late!
The best one was a text, a brother that was always 20 minutes late, had passed away. One final way to get back at him. Everyone was 20 minutes late to his funeral! Now that is classic! Not that he care at all, but it was a great prank!
So, spend a couple of minutes, listen to the segment from this morning and let us know what you think…and enjoy!
