Deepfake Tom Cruise Is Dating Paris Hilton

Deepfake media is officially scary accurate. Also referred to as “deepfakes”, the highly advanced technology alters videos and other digital media. It uses artificial intelligence to replace one person’s likeness with that of another. It’s basically Photoshopping on crack. The technology has been used in lots of ways, from lighthearted humor to serious crime.

Deepfakes have been used to make celebrities and politicians say shocking things. We’ve all seen those. But an estimated 96% of deepfake videos, according to The Guardian, are of a pornographic nature. Deepfakes are so easy for even the least tech-savvy people to do. A lot of fans are using them to fulfill sexual fantasies about their favorite stars.

Some deepfakes are easier to spot than others. But the more this technology advances, the more realistic it gets. Which poses an obvious threat to anyone who might be an unwilling player. Sometimes you might even get accused of doing something you didn’t. Or of dating someone you haven’t.

Tom Cruise just had that happen to him, again. This isn’t by any means the first time he’s shown up as a deepfake on TikTok. Listed under the username “deeptomcruise”, this tiktok user has posted a lot of videos of Cruise in random situations, many with Paris Hilton. But the latest one is so realistic, it might make you want to take your photos down from the internet.

Obviously Hilton is in on the gag. She posted the video to her TikTok as well. The video shows Hilton and Cruise getting ready for a night out on the town. They snuggle up next to each other and ask if the world will believe the two stars are really dating. And it’s scary how realistic this Tom Cruise looks.

For the record, it’s not Cruise. Now, if anyone needs me, I’ll be spending the next hour deleting my existence from the internet. Hold my calls.

13 Of The Best Date Night Horror Movies

The horror movie season is upon us. It’s Halloween time! Most of us are looking forward to all the family festivities. Pumpkin patches, haunted houses, trick-or-treating. And it’s a great holiday for couples as well to dress up together and go to parties.

But what about those of us who are both coupled up but also homebodies? Are we doomed to just sit around waiting for little ghosts and goblins to ring our doorbells asking for candy? I think not. Halloween is not the time we usually think of date nights. But there are plenty of things we can do this month as a couple. Things that don’t involve getting dressed up or going out.

Horror movies aren’t usually the first thing we think about when we think of date night. And for good reason. Traditionally, there hasn’t been a lot of romance involved in thrillers. They actually originated about 100 years ago to explore much darker topics than your typical rom-com.

The first horror movies were made to portray taboo subjects like religious folklore, dark superstitions, and events of the apocalypse. Many explored literature from authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley and Bram Stoker. There are lots of stories that have been made into horror movies, but they all seem to have one goal.

According to Wikipedia, “The horror film is defined by The Dictionary of Film Studies as representing ‘disturbing and dark subject matter, seeking to elicit responses of fear, terror, disgust, shock, suspense, and, of course, horror from their viewers.” So these movies are intentionally just trying to scare the crap out of us? Well, yeah.

So how does this translate to a romantic date night? While there are lots of movies that fall under the genre of horror, some of them actually have some pretty romantic elements. We made a list of our favorites. Grab the popcorn and cozy up to your…well…your Boo (sorry, not sorry).

  • 1. Rosemary's Baby

    This is a classic movie from the 60’s that revolves around a newlywed couple planning to have a baby. It combines love and thrills in the best way.

  • 2. Bram Stoker's Dracula

    Don’t let this trailer fool you. This one has love story written all over it. Dracula is in love with Mina, Mina is in love with Jonathan. Then she’s in love with Dracula. There’s so much love going around, your head might spin…right before it falls off.

  • 3. The Conjuring

    This one is based on a true story of a couple who investigates the paranormal. And if their love story doesn’t have you cuddling up with your mate, the terrifying horror scenes will.

  • 4. The Hunger

    So many reasons this one is our the list. It’s got all the elements of a cheesy 80’s movie, plus vampires, lust, and sensuality. And if that’s not enough to make this a steamy date night pick, I’ve got three words for you…David Bowie in the shower all steamy and hot. Okay that was more than three words…Sorry, I got distracted.

  • 5. My Bloody Valentine

    A movie about a Valentine’s Day massacre. Need I say more?

  • 6. Gerald's Game

    A movie about a couple trying to spice up their marriage with kinky sex games is a great pick for date night. This one is weird though. But that should be expected from a film adaptation of a Steven King novel.

  • 7. Shaun Of The Dead

    Oh the underestimated wonderfulness of British comedy. And tenfold when it’s a zombie comedy. This movie has tons of laughs, which is always great for a date night, but also a heroic element as the titular character strives to rescue his ex-girlfriend from flesh-eating creatures.

  • 8. Ghost

    This one is definitely more love story than horror movie. But there are ghosts and demons, so it counts.

  • 9. The Shining

    Well this one starts all warm and fuzzy with a family working together to restore a hotel. But the end isn’t so fuzzy…and it’s definitely not warm. If you haven’t seen it, that’s all I can say without spoiling it. Couple’s movie or not, this one should be on your bucket list.

     

  • 10. Warm Bodies

    Okay this one is a MUST for date night. It’s got zombies, comedy and love. And it’s a pretty stellar metaphor for the kind of “Bring Me Back To Life” kind of love we all love to swoon over.

  • 11. Sleepy Hollow

    This one has all the trappings of a thriller, with a headless horseman terrorizing the woods. But at the heart is the love story between Ichabod and Katrina. Perfect fodder for date night.

  • 12. Beetlejuice

    Beetlejuice is a fun date night movie for those who want more romance than spooky. There are two couples to relate to in this. One a little more eccentric and creepy than the other. Whichever is more your style, this one brings a lot of date night laughs.

  • 13. Addams Family

    We had to save this one for last. Whether it’s one of the movies from the franchise, or the old school tv show, you can’t get any more date night than the sweet love story between Gomez and Morticia Addams. Every girl wants a love like that, minus the cemetery in the backyard.
