Watch Comedy: The Best Crowd Comedian You’ve Ever Seen

I was cruising around YouTube.com for some more great comedy to show you on “Comedy Monday.” Up pops the the title “The Best Crowd Comedian You’ve Ever Seen.” Well, that sounds like more of a challenge. I’m going to have to watch at least the first five minutes to see if this guy can live up to that billing.

I can tell you I ended up watching the entire special, he was that good. You have to be pretty sharp to base your comedy routine on the people sitting in the first couple of rows. Now, try doing it without insulting people, yet still being funny. His name is Jeff Leeson, and he must have a lot of confidence in his comedic abilities to attempt a taped stand-up special with no script; not even an outline of the topics he wanted to cover.

I love comedy. I really admire the talent of great stand-up comics. I think what they do is incredible. On the radio, I do what I do in a closed-door studio. I never see the audience. Stand-up comedians have to make people laugh while they are looking them right in the eye. It’s do or die. It takes guts, and great comedic chops.

So, I thought I would share some great stand-up comedy with you every Monday. Why? Because it’s Monday! Everyone could use a good laugh on Monday. So, here we go with our next installment.

This comedian comes from Canada, and his Dry Bar Comedy special is obviously unscripted. He pretty much does a half-hour show based solely on the venue and the people in the audience. And not once did I feel like he was being insulting to the crowd. Then, he wraps up things up by doing a play-by-play recap of the entire evening. Pretty amazing. Hope you enjoy Jeff Leeson as much as I did.
