Fender Announces New ‘Game of Thrones’ Guitar Collection
Fender has gone all out for the final season of Game of Thrones and has just unveiled a new collection of guitars inspired by the HBO series.
The Game of Thrones Sigil collection is made up of three guitars representing three of the series’ most popular houses: House Stark (Telecaster), House Lannister (Jaguar) and House Targaryen (Stratocaster.) Each guitar features intricate artwork inspired by each house’s sigil, armor, and weaponry, in addition to their locations in Westeros. Each guitar also comes with a special case that complements the artwork of the guitar.
The collection, itself, was a direct collaboration with Fender and their Principal Master Builder Ron Thorn and GoT co-creators/showrunners D.B Weiss and David Benioff. Weiss, who himself is a guitarist, said of the collaboration and the collection, “Ron Thorn at Fender has built three beautiful, GoT-inspired works of art, and you can out-shred your enemies with all of them. The craftsmanship and attention to detail remind me a lot of what we saw in our costume and armory shops, and on our sets. I hope these make a few other people 1/1000th as happy as they make me.”
Of course, if you’re looking to pick up one of these guitars, it’s going to cost you. The House Stark Telecaster retails for $25,000, while the House Lannister Jaguar costs $30,000. The House Targaryen Stratocaster has the biggest price tag of them all at $35,000.
Full specs for each guitar can be found at FenderCustomShop.com. Check out the gallery for detailed looks at each guitar, and the video below for a powerful jam of the GoT theme song with Weiss, Tom Morello, Scott Ian, Nuno Bettencourt and GoT composer Ramin Djawadi.
