Paseo Verde Little League Loses, But Still In It!
Not the headline we were hoping for, but the Paseo Verde Little League lost this afternoon, but they are still in it! Losing to Texas by the final of 5-2, keep in mind that this is a “double” elimination tournament!
That means, with only one loss, the team from Henderson is still in it. They can still reach the U.S. Championship game, they just have to do it through the “losers” bracket. Before we go on, there has to be a better name than the “loser” bracket right?
Nonetheless, it’s the reality the team has to face. According to the story from Channel 13, the team from Henderson kept pace with Texas. After scoring 2 runs early, Paseo Verde quickly tied it up. But it was the 3rd inning where Texas scored 3 runs and kept PV in check to get the win.
Paseo Verde Loses, But They Can Still Win It All
But don’t hang your heads down to long…the team from Southern Nevada can still make it to the Championship game. With only one loss, their next game will be with the winner of the Hawaii-Florida game on Thursday.
Of course, we remember beating Hawaii earlier in the tournament, but we’re pretty sure, they are looking forward to a rematch. No matter who Henderson plays, it will be a tough game. If the win on Thursday, the team moves on. If they lose, they come home.
No matter what happens, win, lose or draw, they have made our state proud! And like we did about 10 years ago when our little league team that represented Southern Nevada, get ready for a big parade down Water Street to welcome the kids home!
Just remember to tune in Thursday afternoon on ESPN…cheer Paseo Verde on and let’s hope for another big win at the Little League World Series!
