Henderson: Paseo Verde Headed To Little League World Series
It must be something in the water here in Southern Nevada, but out of Henderson, Paseo Verde is headed to the Little League World Series. This will be the second team from Henderson to head off to Williamsport to play in the tournament.
The Mike & Carla Morning Show sending their congrats and best wishes to the team. According to the Las Vegas Sun recapping the regional tournament, Paseo Verde, going through the loser’s bracket, punched their ticket after beating Dixie Little League of Utah in San Bernardino, Calif.
What’s even more amazing, is they did it with pitcher Wyatt Erickson pitching a no-hitter to cap off the 2-2 win! And the game was even televised on ESPN2!
Nice work for the kids and now they are off to Williamsport! You’ll remember that the last team from Southern Nevada to head back east was Mountain Ridge Little League from Northwest Las Vegas. And they made us all proud.
Paseo Verde Headed To The Little League World Series
Moving on for Paseo Verde, their first game at the LLWS will be on Thursday, August 15th against Staten Island Little League. We’re hoping this game will also be televised on ESPN.
By the way, the coach for the team is also the assistant equipment manager for the Las Vegas Raiders! Adam Johnson is heading up this team and getting support from the Raiders as well!
The tournament begins on Wednesday, August 14th and goes through Sunday, August 25th. Teams from all over the world coming together to play baseball on this historical field in Pennsylvania.
How proud do these parents have to feel? Although the boys will be missing the start of their school year, it almost makes it worth it.
Playing baseball, being on tv and meeting new friends from all over. No better way to wrap up the summer!
