Good Advice: When The Alarm Goes Off, Get Up
You’d think most people would have this down, but some good advice this morning. When your alarm goes off, GET UP! It’s what The Mike & Carla Morning Show were talking about this morning. All since this video on Tik Tok went viral.
A nurse talking about just that and how it might not be good for your mental health. The video has gone viral and nurse Jordon has a very simple explanation. She says, “Excess cortisol levels make you gain and hang on to weight. So when the alarm goes off, it’s time, get up. You’ll look and feel better!”
It’s Simple, When The Alarm Goes Off, Get Up
Now we get it might not be that easy for some! For example, Mike O’Brian and Carla Rea have been getting up early for decades. As such, they have admitted that most the time, they wake up before the alarm goes off.
Of course, keep in mind that they do not go back to sleep. Neither of them slap the snooze alarm either. Even on weekends and vacation, the two of them seem to get up early…we’re talking like 4am to 5am. Hey, when your body has been trained one way, it’s hard to flip the switch and go the other way.
Mike told the story of an old morning show partner that had a tough time waking up. In fact this person told him that she had 5 alarms going off in the morning. Maybe, just maybe they’re not a morning person…you think?
We’re guessing that being a morning person…or even a night owl, you have to get into a mental frame of mind. As we get older, both Mike & Carla admit it’s tough to stay out late, then expect to rise and shine the next morning. Even on weekends or, as we said before, on vacation.
Even an article in EarlyBird/Amerisleep, talks about the negative impact of hitting the snooze alarm on your clock. The negative impact it has on even your sleep cycle and how it can throw you all off.
Listen to the segment from this morning and decide what you think…does all this make sense? What works for you? Everyone is different!
