Does Nevada Need A New State Slogan
Come to find out that there is a big difference between a state motto and a state slogan, but does Nevada need a new state slogan? After reading a story about the state of Nebraska on The Mike & Carla Morning Show, we might need to resurrect this conversation. So you know, Nevada’s slogan is “A World With In, A State Apart”. Kind of makes ya think right? But getting back to Nebraska, their slogan has been, “Honestly, It’s Not For Everyone!” According to a recent article in the Nebraska Examiner, it is going away!
Of course all of us on The M&C Morning Show thought that was pretty clever! The Governor of Nebraska was never thrilled by their slogan and is all in favor of coming up with a new one. Hey, we all thought it was at least a lot more creative than say, North Dakota. Their state slogan is “Start Your Journey To Legendary!” Not sure what that even means or has anything to do with North Dakota!
Maybe Nevada Needs A New State Slogan
Which brings us to our great state of Nevada…do we need a new one as well? One that speaks for the entire state? A bit more creative….and what might that be. How about “Nevada, A Landscape For All”? Okay, Okay, I know, it’s a work in progress.
When you listen to the segment, you’ll notice that we get confused on what a state’s motto is as opposed to the slogan. For example, in Vermont, the motto is “Live Free or Die”! Seems pretty cut and dry and not a lot of options there. However, their state slogan is “Vermont, Naturally!” Seems to be a bit more open and friendly.
Anyway, listen to the segment, see if you can’t come up with a new slogan for the “Silver State” that we could be proud of…and enjoy!
