Westgate Las Vegas Celebrates The Music Of Jim Croce
It’s been over 50 years since Jim Croce died, but The Westgate is going to celebrate his music in October. According to a report from our friends at Channel 3, Jim’s son has taken up his music and will be performing at the Westgate Las Vegas. It’s been titled “Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary” tour and it comes to Las Vegas October 27th.
A.J. Croce is celebrating his father’s music and is on tour. According to the report, Croce’s son is performing hit songs. Songs from albums put out by his father and the response has been great! Off the top of my head, “Time in a Bottle”, “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown”, “Operator” and so much more. It’s been 50 years since Jim was killed in a plane crash.
The Music of Jim Croce Coming To The Westgate Las Vegas
If you cruise through his website, it mentioned that at the 1974 American Music Awards, Croce posthumously won “Favorite Male Vocalist Pop/Rock” honors. Jim Croce had his fill of number one songs from only a few albums before his death in September of 1973.
Born in Philly listening to all kinds of music, Croce’s music hit at the right time in the late 60s-early 70s. So, his son being able to bring his father’s music to life is just that as well…the right time. Listen, if you were in high school in the late 60s to early 70s and dating, you have to admit, one of his songs so hit home with you. It’s just the way it was back then.
If you picked up a guitar back then, chances are you learned to play a Jim Croce song. If for nothing else, to sing to your girlfriend.
A bit of nostalgia comes to Las Vegas with this tour and it should be interesting. Tickets seem to be pretty reasonable as well.
