Best Time To Put Up And Take Down The Christmas Tree Down
Everyone pretty much has it up, but here’s the best time to take down the Christmas tree and why! We all know it might be a bit early to start talking about taking the tree down, but here’s the reason why!
The Mike & Carla Morning Show post this as a Public Service announcement that you are free to share. According to some, yesterday was the best day to put up the Christmas tree. According to an article offered up by Balsam Hill, if religious, you should of had your tree up yesterday.
Yesterday was the first day of Advent. According to the article, Advent is four Sundays before Christmas and spiritually a time to reflect and prepare. So see, there is a rhyme and reason to put it up when we do and of course, a time to take it down.
When To Put Up And Take Down The Official Christmas Tree
According to Better Homes and Gardens, there is a specific time to take down your tree. Not just after everyone has gone, taken all the gifts and you’re just tired of it. Oh no, there is a true reason as to when to take it down.
In the article, it states, “…Tradition says you should be celebrating the Christmas season (and leaving your decorated tree up) all the way through January 6”. The reason being is that the 6th is officially the end of Christmas as we know it. If you follow the 12 Days of Christmas. That’s right, it’s not just a happy holiday song!
The 12 Days of Christmas really doesn’t start until Christmas Day! We know, a lot of us didn’t even realize that. So, if you do the math, the 12 days ends on January 6th and that’s when you are okay to take down the tree!
Ta-da! That’s it! Spread the word and don’t be so eager to take down the Spruce that lights up your home each year. In fact, we encourage you to keep celebrating Xmas for the next 2 weeks following the 25th!
