We all love the movies, but there is a list out that we pretend to "love", but don't! And some of these flicks are HUGE! The Mike & Carla Morning Show brought this list up this morning to see if everyone on the show agreed. Admittedly, Carla Rea and Morty go to the theater more often than Mike O'Brian, so we were all interested on what they thought of the list.
According to Screenrant.com, the list consisted of movies from the past few decades. And to be fair, all types were included on this list. The list focused on those movies that enjoyed quite the hype when they first came out. And most were blockbusters at the box office.
What Are Those Movies We Pretend to LOVE?
Movies like "Chinatown", "Jaws", and even "Forrest Gump" all ranked very high on the list of those movies we pretend to love. Again, movies that we've all seen and walked away saying how much we loved it, but did we really. The other question that has to be asked is if this or that movie has stood the test of time?
How many of these movies, depending on the year they came out, would you watch again if it were on tv? See, that's what you have to ask yourself before you vote. But as you go down the list, that what you have to ask yourself.
Both Carla and Morty agreed there were movies on the list the "liked", but maybe didn't total "love"! To the point where they would take others who haven't seen the movie with them to see it again. It's quite the list especially getting down to the Top 5! But of course, it's all subjective to your personal taste and what you like and don't like. However, you might be a little surprised at what ended up in the at the top!
Oh, one foot note to mention, the movie the "Notebook", that was #11 on the list...which shocked (SHOCKED) Morty! Who claims it a movie he truly dislikes!
29 Movies That Turn 40 in 2023
When looking at the movies that turn 40 in 2023, one thing is very clear: 1983 kind of ruled!
In 1983, a holiday classic was born with A Christmas Story. Meanwhile, a star was born in Tom Cruise thanks to Risky Business. Women started cutting up their sweatshirts thanks to Flashdance, and a new sex symbol was born thanks to that gold bikini in Return of the Jedi. We also said hello to a little friend (Scarface), gave our daughter the shot (Terms of Endearment) and were gagged with a spoon (Valley Girl.)
Here are 29 movies that turn 40 in 2023. Even the biggest cynic would agree that 1983 at the movies was totally tubular.
