Idina Menzel Talks About New Album, Broadway And More
Truly an amazing talent of stage, tv & movies, Idina Menzel took time to talk about her new album, Broadway and more! This morning, The Mike & Carla Morning Show shared a portion of the visit they had with the Tony award winner.
Best known for her role in “Wicked” on Broadway and her song “Let It Go” from the movie “Frozen”…which by the way won the Oscar for Best Original Song! This amazing woman now has a new album out and she is talking about it!
The M&C Morning Show also sampled a couple of songs from the album. “Dramatic”, which has already been released as a single and the song “Paradise (fea. Niles Rogers)”. Idina describes the album as dance oriented and hopes people will listen with “open ears”.
Aside from working with Niles Rodgers, it’s literally a “who’s who” listed helping the Broadway star on this album. From Justin Tranter, who’s worked with Lady Gaga to Ariana Grande, to Jim Eliot who’s worked with Elie Goulding and Kylie Minogue!
Tony Award Winner Idina Menzel Talks To The M&C Morning Show
However, given the chance to spend a couple of minutes with Menzel, M&C talked about her singing around the house. As most of us do, when just hanging out at the house in her pj’s, what songs does she breakout? It wasn’t surprising to find that she normally starts singing around the house with songs she’s currently working on.
Of course, when in the car with her 16 year old son, it can be a little different. Although her son gets who his mom is, she does get an “eyeroll” when she tries to rap! Hey, don’t all our kids do that as well.
On performing, Menzel said that it does take a lot of work to sound as good as she does day in and day out. But there are those nights she where she just might hit a bad note and when she gets home and through the door she feels like crap!
It’s a great visit with an incredible talent, so take a few minutes and enjoy!
