Las Vegas Ranks In Top Cities To Walk Your Dog In
Dog owners… You are doing something right by living in Las Vegas. The Entertainment Capital of the World has ranked as one of the top dog-friendly cities to walk your dog in.
January is national “Walk Your Dog Month” so let’s find out what makes walking your dog in Vegas so great.
First off, dogs are an important part of their owners life as they provide unconditional love and support no matter the case. Even with the stereotypical “party lifestyle” Vegas is known for, we have prepared our city for our four-legged family members. Is there room for improvement? Of course, but let’s give credit where credit is due.
Our friends at LawnStarter.com examined 200 U.S. cities over four key categories including: walkability, safety, pup-friendly trail access and professional dog walking accessibility.
Secondly, Vegas ranked in 3rd for “Most Friendly Dog Walkers” behind, Miami and Orlando, Florida. This data was concluded from most dog walkers per 100,000 residents. New York, NY ranked worst for this category.
Our neighbors of Portland, Oregon, ranked first for “Most Dog-Friendly Trails.” With Oregon’s average weather hitting mid 80s and the excess greenery that Vegas lacks it makes sense why they topped the list.
Ontario, California ranked worst for this category so if you live there and are looking to take your pet on a trail walk you might want to look elsewhere.
Lawnstarter concludes that out of the top 10 cities, eight are found on the west coast. The saying, the grass is greener on the other side is looking to be more and more true.
Cities that ranked high in average scores are looked to be better suited for dog-walking where cities with lower average scores are looked to be not as suited for dog-walking.
Dog-friendly cities like Vegas want the best for their pets. With great admiration, San Francisco, CA, ranks the top location for dog-walking with an overall score of 59.80.
