The Who Cut Concert Short After Roger Daltrey Loses Voice
The Who‘s show in Houston last night (September 25) came to a sudden end when Roger Daltrey lost his voice.
In the fan-shot video below, Daltrey looks visibly frustrated attempting to sing “Who Are You” and said after the song, “I should quit while I’m ahead” before exiting the stage. Pete Townshend then exits the stage and returns to tell fans to hold onto their tickets for a rescheduled date and that, “Roger cannot actually speak now. Apparently, before the show he saw a doctor, and, you know, he’s been singing so f*cking great through this tour. I don’t know what the fuck’s going on. He has been. He’s been so on top of his game.”
At this point in the show, The Who were only eight songs into their set. So far, there hasn’t been any announcement about when the Houston show will be rescheduled and whether issues with Daltrey’s voice will affect upcoming tour dates.
