Alice Cooper, Roger Glover Talk Touring Together
Deep Purple and Alice Cooper kick off their tour with Edgar Winter on Saturday (August 12) in Las Vegas, with dates set to run through September 10.
The trek reunites old mates from the 70s, and has an additional connection in that Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover guests on Cooper’s new album, Paranormal.
Cooper tells us he has high hopes for this particular package:
“Yeah, that’ll be great. We played with them in Barcelona and…they sounded great. They sounded like Deep Purple, classic prog rock and they sounded really magnificent…It’s gonna be one of those shows where it doesn’t matter who goes on first. It’s a co-headlining tour, so it doesn’t matter to me if we go on…If we go on first we get out earlier.”
Glover, meanwhile, shares Cooper’s excitement for the tour:
“We’ve worked with both of them before and they’re both great bands to work with. Very difficult to follow Alice, of course, because he’s such an iconic stage act, and Edgar Winter is one of my heroes from a long time back…It’s a triple bill I think is a good bill. I’m really looking forward to that.”
Deep Purple is also supporting a new album, inFinite, which came out in April.
