Pam Anderson ‘The Last Showgirl’ Gives Love To Las Vegas Long Running Jubilee!
Pam Anderson. In the 90’s she was one of the most recognizable women on the planet.
Baywatch, Playboy Magazine, Barb Wire (one she might rather forget) – and her often tumultuous relationship with Tommy Lee, of Motley Crue. In her documentary, ‘Pamela. a love story‘, she confesses that Lee was probably the love of her life – sadly.
The Last Showgirl Had Help From Long Running Las Vegas Jubilee!
‘The Last Showgirl,’ was actually inspired by the final days of the long-running Las Vegas show, ‘Jubilee!’ Pam Anderson even spoke with Jubilee! cast members about their experiences and their day-to-day lives, while sharing tea in the Summerlin home she once shared with professional poker player, Rick Salomon.
Some of the former “Jubilee!” dressers were even on the et to help the actresses with their quick changes that showgirls are accustomed to. In fact, there are several nods to Jubilee! in ‘the Last Showgirl.’
It is the first movie Pam Anderson has starred in since the less than stellar ‘Barb Wire’ misfired in 1996, and this one is getting a lot of buzz – good buzz.
Pam Anderson Could Win A Golden Globe For ‘The Last Showgirl’
The Golden Globes will air on CNS this Sunday evening, and Pam Anderson is up for best actress in a dramatic motion picture, for ‘The Last Showgirl.’ She’s in amazing company, alongside Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie and Tilda Swinton. The four of them share 46 Golden Globe nominations, and 14 wins. Along with Fernanda Torres, for ‘I’m Still Here.’
The script almost didn’t make it to her. Pam Anderson told People magazine that her former agent turned down ‘The Last Showgirl.’ Didn’t even show it to her. The script finally found its way to Anderson after director Gia Coppola (granddaughter of director Francis Ford Coppola) tracked down her son, Brandon Thomas Lee, producer of ‘Pamela, A Love Story.’ He is also an executive producer on Showgirl.
Pam Anderson’s return to the spotlight is a nice feel good story, considering at one time, many were not in her corner – including the media.
After watching her documentary, I fell in love with Pam Anderson. She’s as natural as can be, and she has decided that makeup doesn’t make a woman beautiful. Her resilience, and her positivity are inspiring.
As far as ‘The Last Showgirl’ goes – I, for one, hope she wins the Golden Globe. She deserves it.
