Rick Springfield To Require Vaccination For VIP Experiences
A number of tours have crossed the country over the past few months, making life feel a little bit more normal for music fans… and especially for road crews, promoters and musicians. Most artists and bands stay in their “pods” to avoid catching COVID-19. But a big pre-COVID revenue stream for many artists has been VIP “meet and greet” experiences, where fans actually get to meet the artist and usually get a photo. Some artists haven’t brought those programs back. Rick Springfield, however, has. But with a caveat.
“We have updated our VIP Backstage Meet n’ Greet policy. All fans who will, or have purchased, any meet n’ greet will be required to show a hard copy of a vaccination card.” Fans who had previously purchased VIP passes and who have not been vaccinated can get refunds.
Springfield’s social media team, probably sensibly, disabled comments for the post.
