Comic Book Icon Stan Lee Dead at 95
Stan Lee, co-creator of Marvel Comics, has died at the age of 95.
A comic book and pop culture icon, Lee, along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, created some of the most iconic superheroes we all know and love today including the likes of Spider-Man, Black Panther, the X-Men, The Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four many more.
Per TMZ, who first reported Lee’s passing, Lee was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from his Hollywood home early Monday morning (November 12.) Lee’s death was confirmed to the Associated Press by Kirk Schenck, attorney for Lee’s daughter, J.C. Lee. A cause of death has not been released.
Marvel Entertainment published a touching tribute to Lee on their official website that included the following statement from Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO, The Walt Disney Company: “Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A super hero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain, and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart.”
