VIDEO: Ace Frehley Performs At NHL Winter Classic
The 2018 NHL Winter Classic was definitely in a “New York Groove” and not just because the annual outdoor hockey game featured the New York Rangers defeating the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime.
Ace Frehley was on hand to perform his KISS solo album cover hit of “New York Groove” in the frigid air at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets. (Fun fact for those not in the know: “New York Groove” is played over Citi Field’s P.A. system when the Mets win at home, and considering their 2017 record of 70-92, we’re sure fans wish they could hear it more.)
Frehley even sat down with the NHL Network for a brief interview before the game where he talked about playing guitar in the chilly elements, which even with gloves had to be a bit difficult in the freezing cold weather.
