Gregg Allman Events Announced In Honor of Final Studio Album Release
Gregg Allman’s final studio album Southern Blood comes out September 8th, and his friends are making sure it arrives in grand fashion.
The following three events will be taking place around the release of Southern Blood:
- On September 7, The GRAMMY Museum’s Clive David Theater in Los Angeles will host Southern Blood: Celebrating Gregg Allman, a tribute event featuring a panel of Michael Lehman, Don Was, Scott Sharrard and Devon Allman. A performance from Sharrard of his favorite Allman songs will follow. Tickets go on sale to the general public August 17, with an American Express presale beginning August 10.
- On September 9, the Allman Brother’s Band Museum at The Big House in Macon, Ga. will host an album release party. Macon Mayor Robert Reichert will also declare December 8 (Allman’s birthday) as “Gregg Allman Day” and will posthumously receive the key to the city.
- Finally, on September 15, a tribute performance will take place at the 18th annual AmericanaFest: The Americana Music Festival & Conference and will feature Devon Allman, Michael Lehman, Buddy Miller, Joan Osborne, Pony Bradshaw and John Paul White.
