As 2025 creeps into existence, we wanted to remember some of the funniest and best memories from 2024.
2024 was an exciting year for The Mike & Carla Morning Show. We traveled, interviewed tons of people, hosted fun nights for our local sports teams, and we simply had a ball this year. Thank you to everyone who listens to us and allows us into your lives. We truly appreciate you.

2. When Mike forgot he asked someone to pro
Well, this wasn’t Mike O’Brian’s finest moment. 2024 was the year that he was confronted with something that has been haunting him: His forgotten prom date. Well, essentially Mike “jokingly” asked his friend to prom. He thought it was a joke — she didn’t.
3. 96.3 KKLZ’s Paws in the Park annual event
We love our Paws in the Park event. It’s a fun event that promotes animal welfare, adoptions and positivity within our community. This year, hundreds of loving families adopted dogs and other pets that needed homes. We hosted fun pet contests and raised supplies for our local shelters.
4. Carla Rea’s Girl’s Night Out!
It’s always a ball when Carla and the gang get together. One of the best memories we made in 2024 was our little party at The Aviator’s game. It was fun and riveting, and we loved spending time with our KKLZ family. These are memories that money simply can’t buy.
5. Mike & Carla’s sweet interview with the iconic Dr. Ruth
Dr. Ruth was a trailblazer when it came to sexual education. She made taboo topics into normal conversations, she promoted wellness and health. She was truly a gem, and The Mike & Carla Morning Show had a chance to interview her in 2018. Dr. Ruth sadly died in July 2024. We remember her innovative teachings, contributions and research.
6. Mike calls his high school crush
Well, Mike called his old heartthrob. And well, she didn’t remember him at ALL. The audio is hilarious, and you need to listen to this phone call.
7. And then Carla Rea calls HER old crush
It went opposite to Mike’s experience. They ended up laughing and remembering each other very well. Her old high school crush even had some amazing and sunshine-filled words to say about Carla.
8. Another great year of Mike & Carla’s project: H20!
Each year, the Mke & Carla Morning Show hosts our annual Project: H20. Essentially, we partner with the Salvation Army of Southern Nevada. This year was a little different due to the tragic passing of our friend, Juan Salinas. Juan was the Director of Social Services for Southern Nevada’s Salvation Army. He touched many people’s lives and changed our city for the better. We will never forget you and your family Juan! Thank you for everything.
9. Hosting Fun Nights At Desert Dogs Games
Our nights with the Desert Dogs are truly memorable. We love the intensity and excitement of each game.

Thank you for an amazing year. Thank you for allowing us in your lives every day. We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds in store for us. Happy New Year, everyone!
