Is Cash No Longer King In Las Vegas?
Gone are the clinking sounds of change falling from slot machines. Now you just get the recorded sound effect when you win -- if you're lucky. And a lot of casinos are trying to go completely cashless along with other businesses in Las Vegas. A popular Las Vegas park is the latest to go cashless.
If you're going to Floyd Lamb Park at Thule Springs, you won't be able to use cash to pay the entrance fee anymore.
In 2024 Floyd Lamb Park is going cashless, the website states. No more dollar bills baby! You can save those for -- wait -- I don't know if strippers (dancers) even take them anymore! Do they use The Square now? Venmo? Zelle? Has the great Las Vegas tradition gone cashless too? A story for another day.
Floyd Lamb Park In Las Vegas Won't Take Cash Anymore
According to the City of Las Vegas, you better bring a credit card, or you're not getting in to Floyd Lamb Park.. Visitors will be paying at the kiosk with credit and debit cards only starting of Jan. 1, 2024
Lake Mead Recreation Area will also go cashless in 2024, For entrance fees, lake use and campground fees, according to Fox Five News.
Las Vegas is a city that was built on cash. But many places no longer take it. Which is odd in the city of gambling.
Allegiant Stadium was one of the first cashless professional sports stadiums. Resorts World was the first to bring cashless gaming to Las Vegas for table games and slots. and it is most likely to happen more and more in Las Vegas.
Cash Tips Are Still Welcome In Las Vegas
Cash is still welcome, however, when it comes to tipping. So it's always good to have some one's, fives, and tens handy.
I will investigate further on the dancers of Las Vegas. Used to be if you had a bundle of ones, you were set! Then a bundle of twentys. Now -- I don't know what happens in the champagne room. But I DO know, you still BETTER NOT TOUCH!
Holiday Attractions In Las Vegas Mean More Lights and Sparkle
Holiday attractions in Las Vegas will definitely get you into the spirit.
More Glittering Lights And More Enchantment
There is an abundance of glittering lights in Las Vegas. But there is even more glitter and sparkle in Las Vegas during the holiday season.
Out of town visitors always ask "what is there to do in Las Vegas for the holidays?" Plenty my friends, plenty.
I've lived in Las Vegas for 30 years now. When I moved to Las Vegas there were a few sparkly things to do here and there, and it centered around the holidays. But those events and attractions have grown a lot in the past several years.
Las Vegas is indeed the city of lights, but during the holidays our city shines even more spectacularly than usual. I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite holiday attractions.
From Enchant at The Las Vegas Ballpark, to The Glittering Lights at the Speedway and to the Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolate Factory -- all amazing. And guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit!
Holiday Attractions For Everyone In Las Vegas
I've been to all of these over the years, but it seems that new ones pop up each year. From light shows, and displays. to all sorts of family-friendly fun, there is no shortage of attractions, events, and performances for the holiday season in our city of lights.
Now as far as anything that involves ice skating -- not really my thing. Because I'm about as clumsy as can be when it comes to being on skates. Especially on ICE. But I'll hold on to the little kids dolphin helper, so I don't fall. Or so my fall is less painful. Or - I'll just be over here, cheering you on.
This list just scratches the surface, but as I said, they are some of my favorites. If you haven't been, there's no better time that the present. And most likely they will become yearly traditions.
Hope to see you out and about!
