It’s something that we have talk about, but given the chance, who would be your celebrity bestie? Hey, you never know right? However, The Mike & Carla Morning Show brought this up because Cara Rea had a dream.
Carla and Kelly Clarkson were on a trip together just having the time of their lives. Drinking, laughing, taking tours in another country. Which lead Carla to believe that Kelly could be her “bestie”! Someone she could just have fun with…despite Clarkson being a total celebrity!
Given The Chance, Who Would Be Your Celebrity Bestie
Now Elle.com posted a story about celebrities and their “besties”. You might be surprised when you look over the article to see which celebrities are hooking up with other celebs. Of course the most famous, Travis and Taylor…but others might surprise you as well!
On the other hand, Mike O’Brian has always claimed that Matt Damon is his celebrity man crush and could easily be a “bestie”! According to Mike, Matt just seems authentic, real and just an overall good guy.
He also brought up one other actor that could be his “bestie”, but claims that Matt would always be #1! So, that’s what The M&C Morning Show wanted to know from you.
If you could have a celebrity best friend, who would that be? Just based on what you saw of he or she in interviews, talk shows or social media videos?
It was nice to hear that our listeners had a wide range of famous people they would consider. But Carla was steadfast on Kelly Clarkson…although she truly love Sandra Bullock.
By the way, talking about Bullock, one listener said that he had a dream that he and she were at a minor league baseball game. Chris Pratt came up, Stanley Tucci and even Cyndi Lauper were all mentioned.
It was quite the list…but take in the segment from this morning and see if anyone comes to mind.
I’m sure we’ve forgotten about all the celebrities that Cher, Madonna, and Tom Cruise have dated over the years. but I’m here to remind you.
But why are celebrities drawn to each other in the first place?
Well – we all tend to fall for people we meet in our day to day lives. And generally speaking, celebrities meet other celebrities in their day to day lives. It’s also a weird existence that would probably be hard for a non-celebrity to function in. If a shoe salesman was dating Taylor Swift, how much fun would it be for him to constantly be followed by paparazzi? And how awkward would it be that she was outfitted with $100K worth of diamonds for an awards show, and he’d be getting a tux off the rack somewhere?
I suspect celebrities date other celebrities because they’re the people most likely to accept the Hollywood lifestyle as normal. All that being said, many celebrities marry “normal” people. Look at the Oscars next time. Some celebrities are married to other celebrities to be sure, but many of the spouses seem to be unknowns, or if they are famous it is because of their celebrity spouse.
BuzzFeed put together a list of the weirdest celebrity couples. Some you’ll remember and say “oh, yeah that’s right.” Some you’ll say “hmmm.” Others you’ll say “no way!!” Because they are truly odd couples – which might be why they didn’t last, but who am I to judge?
Have a look, and have a laugh!
Ashley OlsenandLance Armstrong: They dated for six months in 2007. She was 21 and he was 36. Apparently, as we later found out in a tell-all book written about Lance, he was warned by friends to stay away from her, as she’d be a bad influence and could damage his charity work. Yeah – that’s what ruined his charity work…
Simon Cowell and Carmen Electra: I think we all collectively agreed to never speak of this! The British X Factor judge dated supermodel Carmen Electra for a couple of months in 2012 – but she ended things after catching him in bed with another woman.
Here are some more very odd celebrity couples.
Madonna and Tupac
They were introduced by mutual friend Rosie Perez at the 1993 Soul Train Awards, and ended up dating in secret for two years. It wasn’t until 2015 that Madonna opened up about the relationship in an interview with Howard Stern. In 2018, the singer teased an unreleased track that the pair collaborated on, but she’s never released it.

Seth MacFarlane and Emilia Clarke
Yep, the Family Guy creator and Game of Thrones badass dated very quietly from 2012-2013 for about six months. After their split, insiders revealed it was due to location challenges while she was away filming GOT — but she’s also spoken about how hard was to have strangers commenting about their relationship right to her face.
50 one of her favorite exes. Though they only dated for two months in 2010, she says he was “a sweetheart” and “fun to be around.” “My friends loved hanging out with him. I loved hanging out with him. It was a pretty short-lived romance.”

Tom Cruise and Cher
Can’t imagine what these two talked about, but Tom Cruise and Cher — who is 16 years his senior — had a short fling in the 1980s after meeting at Madonna and Sean Penn’s wedding. Cher later told Oprah that she was “crazy for him,” and it could have been a “great big romance,” but their schedules inevitably got in the way.

Kat Dennings and Josh Groban
You really wouldn’t think that these two had absolutely anything in common, but apparently, they were like two peas in a pod. He told Ellen Degeneres that it was really their geek status that brought them together: “Humor is such a huge thing for me, so, you know, the fact that we could talk about Monty Python… I was like, ‘Okay, yeah, we’re on the same page.'” They dated for two years and split in 2016.
