The 5th Annual Battle 4 Vegas took place this past weekend at the Las Vegas Ball Park. Just like past year, players from both the Golden Knights and the Raiders took the field for a game of Soft Ball, while fans cheered on their favorites.

Battle 4 Vegas Home Run Derby

Before the actual game started, players from not only the Golden Knights and the Raiders, but staff and UNLV players as well took their swings at the ball for the 5th Battle 4 Vegas Home Run derby. This year also showed presence of the soon to be Las Vegas A's.

The home run derby consisted of 3 teams. Team VGK, Team Raiders, & Team A's. Right off the bat, the A's were knocking the balls out of the park. But each team had their own secret weapons. Coming from behind, Team Eichel or Team VGK came back. Manual Therapist to the Vegas Golden Knights, Raul Dorantes stepped up to the plate, found his groove and knocked ball after ball out of the park, winning the home run derby for the VGK. But all of fans favorites were there to try help their team win, including both Jose, Ozzie Conseco, Terence Long, Ryan Reaves, and more.

Time To Play Ball

Team Cole and Team Eichel took to the field to battle it out. Last year, Team Smith or Team VGK lost last year to a walk off home run, so team Eichel had to step it up. The 9 inning game didn't go the full distance. The game was called at the 6th inning after team Eichel scored 10 runs in two consecutive innings. The final score of the game, 30-17.

Although the game is fun and competitive, the whole reason for Battle 4 Vegas is to raise money for the VGK Foundation that then helps other organizations around the Vegas Valley. It's all for a good cause. This year, Best Buddies of Nevada was the recipient of the help. Best Buddies is a charity that Team VGK leader, Jack Eichel fully supports. This year, they raised $225,000 for Best Buddies.

The night was capped off with an awesome fireworks display. An all around great time where fans got to meet their favorite players from both the Raiders and The Golden Knights, watch them play, and be entertained. Who will be the next Battle 4 Vegas winners next year, we'll soon find out.
