Want A Great Vegas Bachelor Party? Avoid This Mistake
Planning a Vegas bachelor party? You’d better grab that bucket list and pen so you don’t miss anything. But do yourself a favor and cross out the “get a tattoo” line. Because there’s a pretty good chance that’s one you’ll wish you hadn’t done. And unlike getting too drunk and handsy with a stripper, this one you can’t hide.
Avoid Getting A Tattoo For Your Vegas Bachelor Party
Many men dream about the perfect Vegas bachelor party. The ultimate sign off before you or your best bud ties the knot. But before you plan that ultimate Sin City weekend of debauchery, keep in mind what happens in Vegas actually doesn’t stay in Vegas. And one study just landed Nevada on the top ten list of states people regret getting inked on their last night of marital freedom.
Thanks to movies like The Hangover, we know what goes down at many bachelor parties. Boys will be boys when it comes to getting everything out of their system before they commit themselves to one woman forever. And some live by the “bro code” of not talking about what happened with anyone outside their group.

Unfortunately, some guys make the mistake of immortalizing their weekend of bad judgement on their body. With a tattoo that seemed like a great idea at the time. Well, according to this study, you’re most likely to regret it if you choose to get inked at your Vegas bachelor party. And even if you don’t, your new wife probably will.
Nevada Lands On Top Ten List Of Most Regrettable Tattoos
For the study, the experts analyzed the average number of monthly Google searches in each state for terms related to hiding or removing a tattoo. Search terms included ‘laser tattoo removal’ and ‘tattoo cover up ideas’. Then they ranked the number of total searches in each state per every 100k residents.
It’s not surprising that Nevada landed on the top ten of this list. We are known as a retreat for visitors to throw caution to the wind and not have to deal with the consequences. For the most part, anyway. When it comes to tats, that’s not the case. The study, done by tattoo removal experts at LLTattoo, ranked Nevada as eighth on the list of states where people are most like to get a regrettable tattoo.
I know what you’re thinking. Nevada is Eighth? Yep. According to the study, there are actually seven states where people are more likely to get a bad tattoo. Let’s look at the other states that the study showed have more people regretting their tattoos than Nevada.
The Top 10 States Where People Are Regretting Their Ink Choices
#1 – Colorado
Colorado has over 650 tattoo studios, according to this study. So there are plenty of opportunities to make a regrettable ink decision. Per 100k residents, Colorado had 121.87 average monthly Google searches for how to undo the tat choice.
#2 – Oregon
It was probably inevitable that Oregon was going to be on this list. As the study points out, their more progressive culture lends itself to things like body art expression. Oregon had 112.83 average monthly Google searches per 100k residents during the study.
#3 – California
During the study timeframe, California had 111.83 monthly Google searches pertaining to hiding or removing a tattoo. And that’s pretty impressive considering the Golden State has over 2,700 tattoo studios.
#4 – Washington
Per 100k residents, Washington had 111.33 average monthly Google searches regarding getting rid of a tattoo. Turns out the Evergreen State isn’t so evergreen when it comes to their residents’ body art.
#5 – Arizona
Ranking fifth with 110.88 average monthly Google searches. The study points out that it might be the outdoor lifestyle in Arizona contributing to faster ink fading that leads people to remove their tattoos.
There are only three states on the East Coast that landed on the top ten on this list. Georgia was number six, with 109.69 average monthly Google searches. Number seven was Florida, with 108.55 average monthly Google searches. And Rhode Island ranked number nine, with 108.35 average monthly Google searches. Rounding out the top ten was Utah, at number ten. The study showed that they had 105.8 average monthly Google searches for tattoo removal.
I don’t think it shocks anyone that Nevada landed on the top ten on this list. In fact, it probably shocks people that we weren’t higher on it. Maybe the fact that we weren’t means more people actually keep the tattoos from their Vegas bachelor party. It’s a badge of honor to have your prenuptial bash here, after all. Why not show that badge off?
Truth be told, there’s probably another reason we’re not higher on this list. We have 24 hour casinos and legal prostitution just one county over. So, doing a Vegas bachelor party gives guys here much more severe things to regret than some bad ink.
