Reality Show Remodel Goes Horribly Wrong For Las Vegas Couple
An HGTV reality television show home remodel has gone horribly wrong for a northwest Las Vegas couple. They are now suing the show’s production company. In addition, they’re considering including the popular show’s hosts in their lawsuit.
‘Property Brothers’ Reality Show Horror Story For This Las Vegas Couple
Paul and Mindy King got married back in 2018 and bought a house in northwest Las Vegas. That’s according to an article by Joshua Peguero on 8NewsNow.com.
Subsequently, the Kings signed up with the popular HGTV reality show Property Brothers to have their home remodeled. In fact, per Peguero’s report, they paid about $200,000 dollars to have the work done.
Unfortunately, years later, their home is a mess. There’s sludge and sewer leaking out of pipes under the sink. The cabinets have disintegrated.
In addition, the sink on their island bar collapsed into the unit due to a similar leakage problem.
On top of that, every time they turn on the water in the kitchen sink, it backs up into their dishwasher. That unit is now filled with mold and other rather disgusting material.
But wait, there’s more! They haven’t been able to cook on their range because the company that did the remodeling work used the wrong size pipe for the gas line.
All of these remodeling disaster stories come via quotes from the Kings in the 8NewsNow.com posting.
Lawsuit Involves ‘Property Brothers’ Reality Television Show’s Producers
I can’t even imagine the anger I would feel towards the producers of the Property Brothers reality show. I’m sure the Kings are livid.
They are now embroiled in a legal battle with Cineflix, the production company which hired the construction company for the Kings’ remodel job.
The work was apparently completed back in May of 2019. That’s five years ago, and yet they have not received any remediation for all these problems from HGTV, Cineflix, or the hosts of Property Brothers, Jonathan, and Drew Scott.
However, they are considering including the Scott brothers in the lawsuit to try and move the process along. Per Peguero’s article, a jury trial is scheduled in October of this year to try and settle this lawsuit.
If you’ve ever had the notion to see yourself on television in one of these reality shows, just know that it doesn’t always work out the way you hoped. Just ask Paul and Mindy King of Las Vegas.
