Rick Harrison is bringing back his annual poker run.

The hit television show "Pawn Stars" has been a Las Vegas staple since 2009. Still going strong, one of the stars of the show is using his fame for a good cause. Rick Harrison has announced he will lead his 9th annual "Pawn Stars Poker Run" in October.

The run will happen on October 21, 2023 in Las Vegas and proceeds will benefit The Hundley Foundation. The mission of the nonprofit organization is to improve the lives of children and families in need. The organization focuses on the health, wellness and education of its clients. Especially those in disenfranchised communities.

About the Hundley Foundation.

The Hundley Foundation was started in 2019 by NFL quarterback Brett Hundley and his sister, Paris Hundley. And since then they have been dedicated in their focus of four main pillars. Epilepsy, raising awareness, mentorship & education, and giving back to the community.

About the Run.

The "Pawn Stars Poker Run" will raise funds for The Hundley Foundation to continue their mission. Registration for the run will start at 9:30am at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop on Las Vegas Blvd. The run itself starts at 10:00am and will include five stops through Las Vegas.

Stops include the historic Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, NV, and the Porchlight Grille on West Sahara in Las Vegas. Las Vegas Harley-Davidson will also be joining the run for the first time. The final stop will bring the riders back into downtown Las Vegas to Pawn Plaza.

During the 5.5 hour run, Harrison will lead the riders through each checkpoint, where they will get a poker card. At the end of the run, the riders with the best and worst hand will get a prize. The rider with the best hand will get $2,000 & the rider with the worst hand will get $1,000. Many other prizes will also be awarded.

The Poker Run After Party.

After the last bike gets to Pawn Plaza, there will be a celebration party. Where riders and guests will enjoy a live band, raffle, and catering by Rick’s Rollin’ Smoke BBQ & Tavern. To register for the run, visit Eventbrite.com.

New Detective Series ‘Poker Face’ Filmed Partially In Nevada

The New York Times calls "Poker Face" "the Best New Detective Show of 1973!"

It's done like an old school "case-of-the-week" murder mystery series. It follows Natasha Lyonne (Nicky, from Orange is the New Black) as Charlie Cale, a casino worker on the run who gets tangled up in mysterious deaths of strangers along the way.

Charlie is a human lie-detector who is quick to call BS. She's a cocktail waitress in a Las Vegas casino, living in a trailer and hiding out, because of a reputation for cheating in poker. Turns out, it’s suspicious to have a 100% accuracy read for bluffing. Her unusual talent draws the interest of a seedy casino boss, Sterling Frost Jr, played by Adrien Brody, for a revenge plot. And the antics begin!

Peacock released the first four episodes this week. They say the show isn't really built for bingeing - but in a good way. Episodes will come out weekly, which makes it better for appreciating the show’s meandering pace and an all-star roster of guest stars.

Guest stars include John Ratzenberger, Tim Meadows, Ellen Barkin, Judith Light, Chloë Sevigny, and Simon Helberg, among others. Their faces, as with most everything about Poker Face, are familiar and fun, and the show is that much better because of them.

After watching the first few episodes of "Poker Face." it definitely feels very reminiscent of Columbo. Each episode begins by showing the crime being committed, then following Charlie as she hunts down the perp. The difference is that she isn’t asked to investigate. Instead, she was kind of there all along, often working a job that somehow put her in the killer’s life.

I look forward to watching more episodes, and continuing on as Peacock releases them - it's a fun series!

Here are some movies and TV shows that were based and/or filmed in Las Vegas - did they do a decent job of portraying the city?

CSI Las Vegas

Producers, and some cast members of the original series would stop by the Clark County Coroners Office in Las Vegas each year, to look at cases.

GLOW

“GLOW” is a Netflix series that makes the list of Las Vegas TV series because of its third season. It's a comedy/drama centered around women’s professional wrestling in the 1980s. The first two seasons were filmed all around L.A., the third season brought the cast to Las Vegas, where the original series was also filmed.

Casino

Probably one of the most iconic "Vegas" movies ever.

Ocean's Eleven

What do the original “Ocean’s Eleven” and the remake have in common? Beautiful actors!  The 1960 version: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Angie Dickinson. The 2001 version: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts.

The Hangover

“The Hangover” was actually filmed almost entirely in Las Vegas. Bradley Cooper (Phil), Ed Helms (Stew), and Zach Galifianakis (Allen) wake up after a bachelor party in Vegas with the bachelor missing, and their memories of the night completely gone. Sound familiar?
