DoorDash Glitch Causes Tacoma, Washington Family Headache
DoorDash is used by thousands of people daily. When you want a meal or a drink, but have no means to go get it yourself, you enlist the services of DoorDash to do it for you. Sometimes it could just be pure laziness. Either way, your Door Dash does it! We may not like those nasty fee’s they tack on, but that’s the price you pay for such a service. But what happens when you don’t use DoorDash, but they for some reason still cause you some kind of stress?
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has been a favorite by many for years! DoorDash also does Popeyes deliveries for clients. And for one Tacoma, Washington family, they got more than they ever wanted from the delivery service.
What Happened?
According to KIRO 7 News, a couple in Tacoma, Washington said Door Dash had a glitch in their system for their employees. The glitch somehow had their home pinned as a Popeyes location in their area. What does this mean? It meant that all the people who loved Popeyes food were placing orders through the delivery service app and the contracted employees were showing up to the couples home to pick up orders. The only issue…there was no Popeyes! Drivers were showing up at all hours of the day and night, looking for their orders to pick up and deliver.
Where Is The Popeyes Really Located?
First off, the glitch was obviously real. There was never a restaurant at the apps pinged location. Not anywhere close to it! The nearest Popeyes location was five miles from the couples home. The couple contacted DoorDash many times but were told by the company that they “didn’t have the resources to fix it.”
How Was This All Fixed?
The couple was fed up and didn’t like the answer they were given, so they enlisted the help of their local news station, KIRO 7 News. The news station placed an order for Popeyes through the DoorDash app. Sure enough, the delivery person showed up at the couples home, looking for the order. The news station then ended up contacting Door Dash to report the issue they had, the company apologized for giving the couple the response they did. They then fixed the glitch in their app.
Now the couple no longer gets bothered at all hours of the day by delivery people looking for fried chicken! We have more on this story and other weird and wacky stories in today’s Other News!
