Do you love Pokémon? Are looking for a new home? Then you might want to check out this new Las Vegas community.
In a neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada, there are dirt lots awaiting construction, in the city’s Cadence master-planning community. A portion of the area has already been developed, with homeowners already moved in.
The new neighborhood will have all of their streets named after Pokémon. You can live on the cross streets of Jigglypuff and Charmander, or have a nice house on Snorlax and Squirtle.
Weird street names in Las Vegas neighborhoods
Serenity Place is the newest project by Harmony Homes and its street names were inspired from their construction manager’s own home. Andrea Miller has been known before to name projects and streets after what her kids were into. This time with her boys being 14 and 11 and super into Pokémon. She decided to take some of the iconic characters and names and submit them to the city. Some of which were approved – like Jigglypuff.
Seriously – How can you be in a bad mood, driving from work, and turning onto Jigglypuff Lane? You have to smile!
The first time Miller did this was with a housing community called Blue Ridge where the streets were named after “Paw Patrol” characters. She said her kids were also obsessed with that at the time. “Chase Street,” “Rubble Avenue,” and “Yumi Court” are all places you can live there.
It may not be the norm, or considered very “conventional,” but people like different things – especially in Las Vegas – and Pokémon fans are excited that it’s happening! So these Pokémon names will be a big draw for people who are looking to live somewhere nerdy cool!
Hopefully those who move in will chat with their neighbors about the latest Pokémon game, or comic book that catches their eyes. Bonus fun if people get pets, or have kids, and name them things like Growlithe. It would be worth the giggles to hear someone yell for their Pokémon named dog or child – and much more of that immersive experience everyone is into!
Think about those things you love – wouldn’t it be fun to live on one of those streets?
