UNLV Quarterback Is On His Way To Georgia
After having what some would say was a great season, UNLV starting quarterback, Jayden Maiava, is on his way to Georgia. According to his father, Maiava has entered the transfer portal and is headed to the University of Georgia. The recent back to back National College Football Champions in 2021 and 2022. The Mike & Carla Morning Show were huge fans and is sad to see this kid head off to the SEC!
According to an article from ESPN, Maiava took a trip to Georgia following UNLV’s last game and entering the portal. A lot of UNLV fans were hoping Jayden would remain with the Rebels football program. After a season of throwing over 3000 yards, 17 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions, he seemed to be the star of the future for the Rebels.

To add to all that, Maiava was a local kid as well. Of course, born in Hawaii, but ended up in Las Vegas and attending Liberty High School. So we had that going on…and with all the promise of this past season, football enthusiasts had high expectations for the Rebels next season!
As a sure starter if he stayed, moving onto the University of Georgia, Maiava will re-shirt his first year. Georgia’s starting quarterback, Carson Beck, will be back for what will be he’s final campaign. Not too mention, there will be other candidates looking to backup Beck as well. It won’t be an easy go of it for the Liberty High graduate, but we can all understand the why.
Georgia is a solid, big time college football program. Playing in front of over 80,000 fans at home games throughout the season. They get their fair share of national television exposure and the list goes on!
It’s quite the huge step, from the campus of UNLV to playing between the hedges as they would say in Athens, Georgia! The good thing is that the colors are pretty much the same…Scarlett and Silver! So, we say good luck Jayden and your Las Vegas fans will be watching!
