Foo Fighters Front Man Needed A Reminder To Not Swear At Abu Dhabi Show
Las Vegas just hosted our first F1 Grand Prix, and it was pretty awesome. But, the F1 race in Abu Dhabi looked a little different.
F1 brings people from all over the world, so they make sure to make things big. This includes opening ceremonies with artist performances. In fact, Abu Dhabi just hosted their F1 Grand Prix and just like Vegas, they did it big. Including a performance from the Foo Fighters, according to The National News’ website. But, there were rules set in place for the performers and racers.
You Can’t Say That Here
On Sunday, the Foo Fighters took the stage at Etihad Park in Abu Dhabi. It was all a part of the F1 Grand Prix post-race festivities. But what a lot of people might not know is that you can’t swear in public in Abu Dhabi. According to Stereogum, The United Arab Emirates has strict rules that ban swearing in public. This includes online as well.
The strict rules meant Dave couldn’t swear. If you’ve been to a Foo Fighters show then you know the front man swears regularly. It’s just second nature for him to do it. But, if he were to even say one swear word, the Foo Fighters could potentially be without a front man for a while. If caught swearing in public, you could be heavily fined and even serve jail time, Stereogum reported.
NO CURSING
How did he not swear during the whole performance? He had a piece of paper that had “NO CURSING” printed on it multiple times. At one point of the show, he showed the sign to the crowd of fans to let them know how he’s made it through the set without cursing once, a video on Sterogum’s article showed.
Well Grohl stop swearing after this show? Probably not, but fans in Abu Dhabi experienced something no other Foo Fighters fan has experienced.
